um yeah...
It's been awhile, I know. I feel like I don't have much to say and when I do I'm not by a computer and I forget about it.
There is some good news to share though- my doctor's office called today to tell me they made a scheduling mistake with my ultrasound and need to reschedule so instead of next week my ultrasound is THIS WEDNESDAY!!! I'm so excited and can hardly wait! I don't know how I'm going to get through the day tomorrow I just know I will be pacing around like crazy wanting Wednesday to be here.
We'll finally figure out whose votes were right or wrong!
I haven't felt the baby move very much at all which is a little sad and worrying, and I don't even know if what i think is the baby moving is really the baby moving... it's hard to explain.
I've compiled a list of a few things I wish I would have been prepared for:
Um yeah, your nipples leak
Sex hurts :'/
Your daily vomiting doesn't always end at 17 weeks
Once you start showing- it's really not as exciting as you thought it would be
- in fact, it kinda makes me you feel like a giant, and it's scary to think I'm only going to get bigger.
Acne- bleh
It's weird, the body is changing a lot I guess, and these things aren't horrible but it would have been nice if I had known before hand so I don't freak out when those things happen.
In other news, Baby is about a full pound now :) and my weight gain has evened out back into the "normal/average" range.
I guess I should share a picture even though I feel like a LA:
... yeah.. anyway...
My parents are in town and so that means now we can start preparing the baby's room and I'm very excited :)
Also, I got offered the job I applied for LAST YEAR (long wait! they had a hiring freeze) at the airline and so now I can work from home :) I hope it works out well, I really really don't want to work on Sundays since that is our sabbath but I'm thinking maybe I can just donate the money to charity or something for the Sundays that I work. It's only temporary until I have seniority and can pick my schedule.
I'm excited and happy and glad things are going well. Now we just need to find out if we're having a little Evie or a Tommy!! *squeals*

Things...
Sometimes I worry about being a bad mom and not having well-adjusted kids or being too clingy and not being able to let them actually live their lives. I think it's good that Jack hardly ever worries about anything because I tend to worry about everything. I hope we can balance each other out and having some of my own experiences with feeling a little overwhelmed by parental presence will help me be more open to things.
There are other things that give me hope when it comes to my ability to parent. For example, today I saw a lady in the grocery store pushing two kids in a stroller thing. One of the boys was crying because he wanted to go home, and she said and I quote, "Shut up you brat!" And just kept saying mean terrible things to this 5 year old kid. I was horrified. At least I know (hope) I will never be that bad. Granted, it's never easy to deal with a crying kid in public, and I could be wrong here but for some reason verbal insults don't seem like the best resolution to such a situation.
In other news I'm just about 5 months pregnant!! I bought some maternity shirts the other day. Somedays I show more than others and for some reason I show more on my left side than my right- maybe that's where the baby likes to hang out?
I haven't felt any kicks yet which is a little sad. There have been some moments where I think I feel something but it only happens once so I can never be sure. I'm a little worried cuz lately I haven't really even felt that and I got rear ended the other day so I'm super nervous. But I'm pretty sure if something was wrong I would be spotting or something... I dunno.
I'm thinking of having a baby shower in New York as well because there are so many wonderful people out there that I'd love to share this time of my life with!! I felt bad enough we couldn't have a wedding reception out there so I'm hoping I can at least do this, we'll see what happens.

Hormones?
I don't know why, but after watching "Bride Wars" I cried for like 30 minutes. It's got to be hormones, i can't understand why else a movie that dumbb would make me cry.... seriously weird...
I'm really excited because yesterday I called my aunt and got the recipe to make empanadas! They're so yummy and the ones I made actually tasted REALLY close to the ones my abuelita used to make.
They were super delicious!! I've been eating them since last night haha. I can't wait to try making them again! And my aunt is sending me the recipe for the arepas too so I'm very excited to try that as well!
It's funny the things we take for granted when we're younger. I've been thinking a lot lately about the changes that happen as we get older.
For example, in high school, I was super insecure about everything. And of course i'm still unsure about myself in a lot of ways but not nearly as much as back then. And i would hear people say it's all part of growing up, but I was convinced that was just who I was and would be that way forever. I think younger people especially don't realize that when they get older, they really will be different people, or can be if they're willing to make that change.
So many of the things around us influence who we are and what we do. Not living at home has probably contributed to a lot of my personality changes, and it was so hard for me at first when I moved out here but I realize it's something everyone has to do. I think it's in peoples nature to resist change. I don't mean like change in the weather, i mean real hard, breaking a habit, learning a new language, becoming a new person change. It's hard! But in the end I really believe it's so worth it.
Of course now this whole entry is a bunch of broken thoughts that I haven't fully explained but at least in my mind I've been able to develop the thoughts fully and maybe the incomplete thoughts are better- because it will give you readers a chance to contemplate it yourself and come to your own conclusions.

Life
Life is good for the most part. I'm tired a lot, but I guess that all just has to do with being pregnant and having a weird schedule where some days I wake up at 7:30 and other days I don't wake up till 10 or 11.
We've been having trouble with our internet lately :( I'm hoping Jack can get it fixed soon but he's not too sure because he says he might need to get new equipment and it was hard to get the first time.
I entered an awesome giveaway today for Scentsy Candles on this blog here: Samjodiego Blog
I'll be really excited if I win because i already have scentsy candles but I don't have a candle warmer and I keep forgetting to go buy one! They smell soo good, I recommend it!
Graham and Kendra's wedding is Friday and Tristan and Tyler's wedding is on Saturday! I'm so excited for both of them! I was really worried that I was going to miss Tristan's wedding because I work on Saturday but I just realized her reception is in the afternoon and I don't work till 6! YAYAYAY!! That totally made my day!
Also, it's been awhile since I posted belly pictures. I compared to the last picture I posted at 11 weeks and it's definitely bigger now!
Right now I feel like the only people who can tell I'm pregnant are people who already know me and knew what my body looked like before. I'm still waiting for a stranger to say something haha. We'll see how it goes.
My big ultrasound is June 9th! I can't wait to find out if we're having a boy or girl!!! I posted a poll on the side bar (on this side now) --> so put in your guess and let's see who's right!
I also have a new blog layout as you've probably noticed. I'm not totally loving it, but I didn't like hte other one very much at all so for now I'll work with this one.

Okay, so I saw this survey thing on my friend's blog and decided Jack and I would try it.
